Feast of Epiphany

Epiphany -- revelation, enlightenment, mindfulness of God. Today is the historic day of Epiphany. It is the feast where we read the story of the Magi and sing We Three Kings -- well, we'll do that tomorrow -- being that I'm a Protestant pastor. For Armenians this is Christmas Day and in Russia Christmas will fall tomorrow. In any case, for the Eastern Church Epiphany is a major celebration of God's revelation as Trinity, with baptism playing a significant role in the process.

A very interesting article appears today in the LA Times, and in the spirit of Ecumenism, I celebrate with my Eastern Brothers and Sisters this important time in their worship experience. For the Western Church, Christmas officially ends (12 days of Christmas) and we move to the baptism and beginning of ministry.
