Convicted! --- Lewis "Scooter" Libby got the News

The news is out, Scooter Libby has been found guilty of 4 counts of perjury and obstruction of justice. I heard Patrick Fitzgerald on the radio this morning. He's happy with the verdict, of course, but he's also closed mouth about other matters. The real issue, it would seem, is what is Scooter Libby hiding? It's obvious he's the fall guy, but for whom? The likely person is the VP.
With questions of a pardon being bandied about, the question is, will Libby talk in exchange for leniency. The likelihood that this will be overturned on appeal is slight -- the CBS legal analyst said that 99% of cases are sustained by the appellate courts, so this is unlikely to go anywhere.
Now, perhaps Lewis will get a cell out here in Lompoc, I don't know, but the question is --will he talk? And if the President pardons him, is this a sign of a cover up? No good can come of this.
Andrew Sullivan raises the possibility of a Cheney resignation -- ostensibly for health reasons. It would actually be a good move for the President, I would think. On the other hand, with such low ratings, maybe it's good to have someone around whose ratings are even lower!
But, for a President who came into office promising integrity, this result has to undermine whatever credibility he had left!
