Democrats Talking Religion on Colbert!
Christian Democrats in America -- isn't that an oxymoronic statement? I mean isn't God a Republican? Well of course! I mean, of course not! I'm a pastor and I'm a Democrat. Of course that could mean I'm an apostate Christian!!!
I am part of a conversation between religious leaders and local Democratic Party leaders in Santa Barbara County. It's been interesting to have this conversation, especially as we religious leaders disabuse some Democratic activists of the idea that religion and politics should have nothing to do with each other (even though Obama, Edwards, and H. Clinton have all been outspoken about their faith).
Well there is no better forum to get the word out to the public than through the auspices of Stephen Colbert. Here is Mara Vanderslice of Common Good Strategies and formerly Interfaith Outreach Coordinator for the Kerry/Edwards campaign talking to Stephen Colbert!
