Academy of Parish Clergy -- Book of the Year 2007

As editor of the Academy of Parish Clergy's journal Sharing the Practice I was pleased to learn that Diana Butler Bass's Christianity for the Rest of Us (Harper SanFrancisco, 2006) was named as APC's 2007 Book of the Year. I am excited that Diana will be appearing at our annual conference at Princeton the week of April 23. I hope to include her remarks in the next issue of Sharing the Practice and my review of Diana's book will appear shortly in Alban Institute's Congregations Magazine. Though I had no involvement in the process, I was thrilled to learn that her book had won.

I do think it is one of the most important books out there and one that provides much hope to moderate and progressive Christians that we need not be Conservative Evangelicals to have vibrant, vital, and transformative churches. Her studies and thoughts on this matter are really profound and worth reading and applying.

So, I'm grateful to hear this good news! And know that if you read this book you will be blessed! Diana's own web site is: http://www.dianabutlerbass.com/. If you haven't purchased the book here is my Amazon link -- go and buy it now!!
