Bring out the broom

In baseball, when a team sweeps a series, the fans will often bring out a broom. Tonight Barack Obama brought out the proverbial broom and swept the Potomac Primaries handily. Is there momentum? You be the judge.

Barack was considered the favorite in the three primaries, although some thought she had a chance to take Virginia. So far, at 9:00 P.M. PST, after checking the count here's what I find.

Virginia -- 100% in -- Obama 64% to Hillary's 35%. This isn't Kansas, it's not a caucus, it's a primary in an important swing state, a state the Democrats haven't won since 1964. He won by almost 30% points.

Maryland -- 51% in -- Obama 61% to 35% (Hillary).

District of Columbia --- 98% in -- Obama 75% to 24% (Hillary).

Now, DC Democrats are largely African American, so the margin there can be explained. But, Obama couldn't have reached numbers above 60% without reaching into Hillary's base. And if you look at the exit polls, you'll discover he did just that.

So, it's an Obama night along the Potomac. Now "On Wisconsin" and then over to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands!

Oh, and McCain won.
