Unfortunate Fear Mongering

It is unfortunate that some in this country want to manipulate our fears for political gain. This is especially true of the continued attempts to portray Barack Obama as somehow a secret Muslim and that if he were elected he would use the Koran in his inauguration. Now the truth is, I don't care if the next President is a Muslim, but that's not the issue here. Americans are afraid of Islam, largely because they don't understand it. And, so when Iowa Congressman Steve King (thanks Jim for pointing out my mistake -- Iowa not Ohio)suggests that the terrorists will be dancing in the streets if Obama is elected he has crossed the line. His suggestion that Barack Obama's middle name -- Hussein -- will somehow give comfort to the enemy is preposterous.
He needs to apologize and John McCain condemn the statement. If Obama must renounce Louis Farrakahn, then surely McCain must do the same.

So Bush and Cheney and cronies will be dancing in the streets when Obama wins (I sincerely hope he does) - gosh that'll be a terrorising sight. I didn't realise they liked Obama so much:-)

Steve King is just another example of the wickedly igonorant in positions of influence. But are people that stupid and gullible that they believe him?

I know we have our share of loony toons here in Ohio, but Steve King is from Iowa. :)
