Every Day Justice -- Theolog Review

My review of Julie Clawson's excellent Everyday Justice: the Global Impact of Our Daily Choices (IVP, 2009) is up at Theolog.

Here's a morsel!

Books like this one tend to get under our skin and make us feel uncomfortable, especially when they bring to mind texts like Matthew 25, which calls on us to attend to the needs of the “least of these.” But like the rich young ruler of this week’s gospel lesson, we find it difficult to let go of the things that give pleasure to our lives.

Bob, why are the reviews on Theolog so short? Really this is more like a note on the book than a review.. a shame because books like this need more press...

Len, yes -- there is a word limit on the Theolog reviews, though this is typical length for a published review. Most academic journal reviews, unless they're review essays are between 500-750 words.

This is a good book though!

Ah.. that's what I hate about those particular pubs.. similar to ChristianWeek up here.. they need to come into the new world of virtual where space is not purchased by the inch..
