One More Poll -- Americans are quite religious

Now comes a Newsweek poll that confirms that Americans are a religious bunch. 91% according to this poll believe in God and only 3% say they're atheists -- Sam and Richard are definitely in a small minority -- so they better get to work.
73% of evangelicals we're told believe in a young earth creationist view, while only 39% of non-evangelical Protestants and 41% of Catholics hold to that view. I'm still amazed that things can get this high. Though I'm glad people still believe in God, we've got some work to do (especially within mainline churches to deal with this anti-intellectualism that's present in the poll.

I live near Salem, MA. Many people there are religious, too.

A tip: don't go to Newsweek for what people think about Jesus. Go to Newsweek to find out what makes people feel warm inside this week.
