A Prayer for the New Year

 Welcome 2025, a New Year with new possibilities and many unknowns. I offer this prayer taken from Chalice Worship, inviting you, my readers, to ponder and pray it as we head into this unknown future:

Everlasting God of all the years, you have been our companion through al the mysteries of the past to uphold us when we knew not the way. Take our hand now and share our pilgrimage to an unknown future. Open our eyes to recognize your presence with us this day that we may give you praise and celebrate the goodness of your guidance. Renew us. Refresh us. Fill us with your Spirit; we pray in Christ's name. Amen. 

As a Scripture to ponder this day:

  Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.”  (Deuteronomy 31:6)
