I voted for Obama!

I went to the polls with my 18 year-old son and cast my vote for Barack Obama. It was my first Michigan vote, and of course that was a bit different. For Brett it was his first time to vote -- he took longer than did I. And, to top it off, we were checked in by my wife, Cheryl, who was working the polls!

As I survey the national scene, I'm very hopeful and optimistic. Democrats always seem pessimistic at times like this, and a conversation with several Obama supporters last night saw that pessimism in play. "What if Obama loses?" Although anything is possible -- the polls would have to be extremely wrong.

The fact that nearly a third of Americans voted even before today, with long lines present in many places suggests that this could be historic. And large numbers of voters, especially young ones should favor Obama.

If you've not voted yet -- go do it! As they say, vote early and often!
