Hallelujah -- Leonard Cohen

Last night Cheryl and I were taken to the Detroit Leonard Cohen concert -- at the Fox Theater. What a concert! I hadn't known much about Cohen, but he does quite a show -- with a great band. So, enjoy -- Hallelujah.

Oh, and thanks David and Mary Beth!

With due respect to the great Leonard Cohen, writer of this song. I still prefer Jeff Buckley's cover of the song. Amazing either way though.

You should respect your elders. He's 74 by the way. Toured because his retirement stash dissapeared. Hope he can retire in peace now.
I also hope I'm as spry at that age. this has has been covered by many great artists.
Don't you love youtube?

If Bob didn't post Democracy a few weeks back, I wouldn't have gone, so thank you for inspiring the trip.

David,

I'm glad you were inspired!

And he was sure skipping around a lot by the end. So, yeah, I'm hoping I'm that spry at 74!

Thanks again!!

Anyway,

His new DVD/Bluray “Live in the UK” is almost exactly the same show except for a slightly different playlist. Rent or buy the CD if you want to see what the show was like.

Cohen’s music wasn’t marketed very much in the US; maybe he didn’t play the game well.

Anyone studying spirituality in art could spend a year on him (songs, poems, books).

“I’m your Man” is a good tribute DVD from a few years ago.

“I came into this broken church, I had nowhere else to go.”

“To love, every heart will come, but as a refugee”

I think he helped lead me back to the church, along with my wife (see the song Suzanne).
CWCC helps me stay.
