Prayers for Ukraine

 As Russia begins its invasion of Ukraine, join me in prayers for the people of that country and of the world. The Ukrainian people face the bulk of the danger, but the world will be affected. This includes the Russian people, who may not share Vladimir Putin's war aims. They also will suffer. 

I include a map, knowing that there are different names for cities --- Kiev is Russian, Kyiv in Ukrainian. 

We are in the midst of a difficult period of history. We are seeing attacks on democracy at home and abroad. Ukraine is not a perfect country, but it is an emergent democracy. While democracy is not a perfect form of government, it is preferable to autocracy or oligarchy. 

So, we pray for Ukraine and for the world. 

Lead us from death to life,

from falsehood to truth.

Lead us from despair to hope,

from fear to trust.

Lead us from hate to love,

from war to peace.

Let peace fill our heart, our world, our universe. Amen
