Didn't know that Ronald Reagan got sprinkled!!!

Slate.com has produced a graphic novel bio of President Ronald Reagan. In it we're informed that he was baptized in the Disciples of Christ Church -- that would be First Christian Church of Dixon, IL, a church pastored once by the parents of my chair of the elders.

If you look closely and you may have to click on the picture or click here and then go to page 12 to get a better look, it appears that this preacher with a cross on his back is smearing something on Ron's forehead. Apparently the artist got things partly right -- we baptize believers upon profession of faith -- but there should be a whole lot more water here. We baptize by immersion and this preacher is barely getting any water on the one being baptized.

I must forgive our artist here, but I must also set the record straight!

By the way, Ronald Reagan was one of three Disciples Presidents, James Garfield and Lyndon Johnson were the other two.
