Was it ordained? Before and After

I got some old slides converted to digital images -- thought this was fun.

In 1966 or thereabouts our Episcopal Church (St. Barnabas) in Dunsmuir, CA, called a priest to serve the church that had been previously served by my father (a licensed lay reader and an occasional visiting priest). With the new priest, I was invited to become an acolyte. Almost 20 years later I was ordained to the ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at Temple City Christian Church. That was 1985 -- 23 years ago. In the bottom picture Cheryl and I are surrounded by other clergy participating in the service.

You never know what an early introduction to such things might bring!
