Dangers of Political Dynasties

I've said this before, but I'll say it again on the day of the Iowa caucuses. I want to say to my fellow Americans, consider carefully the question of political dynasties. For the past twenty years our nation has been led by either a bush or a Clinton. A victory in November by Hillary Clinton in November would extend that to an even longer season. To go for a generation with only 2 families in power -- and consider that many GOPers would love to see Jeb Bush in this race -- is highly unusual for America.
Rosa Brooks writes in today's LA Times about the decision of the Pakistan People's Party to anoint Benazir Bhutto's son has her heir -- with her husband as the regent. Benazir herself is the successor of her father. The question to ask is -- do we want to see such dynastic politics here?
Now, given a choice between Hillary and one of the GOP offerings, I will vote for her in November, but I would just as soon not have to be in a position of sustaining another political dynasty.
As Barack has been saying -- it's time for a change. It's time for some new blood!!!
