Embracing Mission of God -- a Post-communion Prayer

God of all the nations, we have heard your call to mission, so that your word of blessing might go out to the nations through us.  We come with grateful hearts to you in prayer, knowing that even as you fed the Hebrews as they journeyed across the Sinai toward the Promised Land, you will sustain us for our journey.  At this Table of Thanksgiving and Remembrance, we have met Jesus and we have received a fresh outpouring of your Spirit as took up these signs of life and salvation.  May we leave this Table, having been empowered again by this meal for the journey ahead, a journey that leads to blessings for the nations.  Amen.   (Written by Robert Cornwall)

Prayer written with a mission theme, based on the text:  Acts 1:6-11
