The New Has Arrived

A new year has arrived.  Happy 2016! Where will it take us and what will we accomplish? There will be a big election, of course, and the Summer Olympics. Beyond that, much is an adventure. This morning I turned to the Bible Gateway site, suspecting that it would have an appropriate verse for today. I wasn't disappointed.   Here is the word for today, as we look back and look forward. Paul writes to the Corinthians and to us:
17 So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation. The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived!  (2 Corinthians 5:17Common English Bible (CEB)).

May 2016 indeed be a time of newness and renewal. There is much happening in the world that can be a discouragement, but we needn't give in to that voice. Instead, let us follow the Spirit on a new adventure!
