Darn, I forgot to Pray!

You know, it just slipped my mind; I forgot that my President had commended me to pray. Yes, indeed, yesterday was National Day of Prayer and I spent my time doing other things. I guess now I have to wait until next year on the first Thursday of May to pray.
From the report of the gathering in the East Room with the President, the highest ranking official was Shirley Dobson, apparently standing in for the Republican Party's chief religious vetter. Shirley is chair of the National Day of Prayer Task Force.
Apparently there was a crowd of 200 that included Hindus, Muslims, Jews and of course Christians. The prayers were offered by a rabbi, and reps from Virginia Tech, the SBC, and the Church of God.
By the way, if you check out the web site of the National Day of Prayer Task force you'll discover that the word "interfaith" is a bit of a misnomer. It's pretty much a Christian Right event -- with a little add for a piece by that paragon of American history writing David Barton!
