The Polls Say -- Obama!!
Well, you know about polls. They are hailed only by those who are favored by them. So, in the past months Hillary has cited poll after poll that say she has large national leads. But when polls show that she might be stumbling in Iowa -- well you know.
Anyway, as reported by the Washington Post, the latest Des Moines Register poll, just days ahead of the first true presidential test suggests that Barack Obama has a 7% lead over Hillary (32 to 25), with Edwards a point behind her. It's still close and when you factor in the way things work at an event like this, well you never know.
For those of us who support Obama, the good news is that in 2004 this same poll accurately predicted the final outcome. So, we will see. Again, dear Iowans, help us get over the top -- and then onward to New Hampshire!

If this year is different, Obama wins. (We'll know in a few hours.) But given the way the caucuses work, I find it interesting that John Edwards is the favorite "second choice." That could bring him MANY votes from Dodd, Richardson, Kucinich, Biden, and Gravel caucusers that fail to get 15%.
