Questions Jim Wallis Might Have Asked

In a God's Politics posting Jim Wallis offers 4 questions he would like to have asked, but time didn't permit it --- during the recent Faith and Values Conversation.

I'm going to summarize the 4 and let you read the whole thing here.

  1. What steps would you take as President to fulfill the promises made at the 2005 G-8 summit to double aid to Africa?
  2. How would the beatitudes -- blessed are the poor, blessed are those who hunger and thirst after justice, blessed are the peacemakers -- shape your leadership and politics?
  3. How would the command "be not afraid" fit into your foreign policy?
  4. How might -- or should they? -- faith based organizations and government cooperate in meeting social needs?

These are all good questions and time was limited -- but then again if Soledad O'Brien hadn't asked John Edwards about his biggest sin . . . !
