It's only getting worse -- in Gaza
I read this morning that Israel isn't getting ready to pull back. It's getting ready to escalate an offensive that has already killed more than 800 people, a good percentage of whom are noncombatants. Every day we hear about a school, a house, a garden, filled with people, sometimes places the Israelis had sent civilians being shelled. With no press inside, there is no way to verify what is happening -- which isn't good for Israel either.
This morning's news is that the Israeli's have no intention of heeding the UN and Hamas isn't being consulted. So, where in a stalemate at that point. Telling noncombatants to stay away from Hamas isn't helping too much -- in an area as constricted as this, it's hard to stay away from targets since the Israelis are hitting just about everything in Gaza.
Again, I pray for an end to the violence. Let us give peace a chance.
