USC Wins -- PAC 10 goes 5-0

I know that I live in Big 10 country now, but I've lived in Pac 10 country too long not to be a Pac 10 fan. I may not be a big USC fan during the regular season, but I understand that a USC victory in the Rose Bowl elevantes the Oregon victory over Oklahoma State in the Holiday Bowl.

So, I watched with enthusiasm as USC dismantled Penn State in the first half, going up 31-7. Marc Sanchez took some time getting started, but showed with a bit more seasoning he can be a good NFL QB. Now, don't let the 38-24 final score f0ol you. USC took the foot off the peddle, letting Penn State have the ball in good field position in the second half. Had they continued to press offensively as they had in the first half, rather than run the ball up the middle 3 times straight on several 4th quarter possessions, Penn State would not have had the ball enough to score those 17 second half points.

So, congratulations to: USC for its victory in the Granddaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl.

And congrats as well to Arizona, Cal, OSU, and of course Oregon, for their fine bowl wins. Time to give the Pac 10 a little love and a little respect!

Oh, and I did miss Keith Jackson last night. Keith has been broadcasting the Rose Bowl for as long as I can remember. He was one of a kind!
